This is the box at the corner of Wilshire and Catalina all finished
I started this blog as a way to track my daily painting. Since then lots of things have changed. I am in the studio every day and I'm teaching a lot. This blog will focus on the work that I'm doing myself and sometimes feature the work of my brilliant students.

Another utility box is underway
I had a slow day in the studio and got to really get going on ideas for the box at the S/W corner of Wilshire and Wilton. Great afternoon.

Do you ever graduate from the studio?
Ahhh it's the worst part of the job. Dr Lindsay came to the studio as she started her PhD program at UCLA but then she earned her degree and was offered a tenure track position in Oklahoma. Mara (right) came at age 12 but she just grew up and was accepted at a prestigious art school in Belgium. Both have worked here for 6 years. Jake became good friends with all of us.
It's been a great privilege to work with you two brilliant women.

Water colors for just fun
Sometimes it’s just too much to take all the oil painting supplies down from the the studio and out to the car, especially after such a long week. I’ve been keeping the watercolors handy and have these two paintings - one from the 4th of July camping trip and one from this afternoon.
Lundy Canyon and 5th and Bonito in Long Beach.
